If you're in the market for a midsize sedan, then you know that this is one of the most competitive segments on the market. A midsize sedan will be the perfect fit if you are looking for the convenience and efficiency of a compact while having a spacious vehicle. If you have been doing your research, you will have found that a few models are at the top of the pack. The new Hyundai Sonata is one of the segment leaders, as well as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Nissan Altima. Test Drive a Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai Sonata vs. Honda Accord

  • The new Hyundai Sonata brings excellent practicality and affordability through its starting price of $22,300, which is over $1,200 less than the $23,570 starting price of the new Honda Accord.
  • While both of these sedans have the same passenger capacity of 106 cubic feet, the Hyundai Sonata distributes this space more evenly, giving your backseat passengers a bit more head room and giving you and your copilot a lot of front head and leg room to enjoy!
  • Finally, the Sonata provides a few more conveniences, which are even available in base trim levels, such as an interior auto-dimming rearview mirror, a compass, and a HomeLink® Universal Garage Door Opener. These features are unavailable on the base trim level of the Honda Accord and must be upgraded with the purchase of a higher trim level.

Hyundai Sonata vs. Toyota Camry

  • Once again, much like the Honda Accord, the starting price of the Hyundai Sonata is much less than that of the Toyota Camry, giving you more wiggle room for adding on extra features and packages. The starting price of the Camry is over $1,500 more than that of the Hyundai Sonata.
  • The Sonata comes standard with speed-sensitive windshield wipers and its exterior rearview mirrors are foldable, which can come in handy when parallel parking in major cities. The Toyota Camry does have these features available on higher trims for an extra fee.
  • The warranties provided by Hyundai keep your investment protected for a lot longer than the warranties for the Toyota Camry. The Basic Warranty of the Sonata lasts for 60 months or 60,000 miles (whichever occurs first) and its Powertrain Warranty covers engine and transmission parts for 120 months or 100,000 miles. The Basic Warranty of the Toyota Camry lasts for 36 months or 36,000 miles and its Powertrain Warranty lasts for 60 months or 60,000 miles.

Hyundai Sonata vs. Nissan Altima

  • The Hyundai Sonata features a lot more passenger volume over its top competitor from the Nissan brand, with 108 cubic feet of passenger volume and about 16 cubic feet of trunk space. The Nissan Altima contains 102 cubic feet of passenger volume with a lot less space for your backseat passengers, though it has almost the same cargo capacity.
  • The Sonata has a great deal more powertrain and fuel efficiency to contribute with its four-cylinder engine. The engine of the Sonata generates 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 and 4,000 revolutions per minute, respectively. Whereas, the four-cylinder engine of the Altima generates about 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque at the same revolutions per minute.
  • Finally, when it comes to your convenience, the new Sonata has a few extra features which are standard or available in all trim levels, including folding exterior mirrors, speed-sensitive windshield wipers, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, a HomeLink® universal garage door opener, and a compass. These features are either absent from base trim levels of the Nissan Altima or unavailable on the sedan entirely.

While the Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord are great models, the new Hyundai Sonata provides customers with an edge that these models don't quite have. If you're looking for the next big thing in midsize sedans, you have come to the right place! The Hyundai Sonata is stylish, provides great features, and is highly efficient and versatile.
